I am an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist as well as an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor.  I was born and raised in the Bay Area and I am thrilled to be in service to the Oakland community. I hold a Master’s Degree in Holistic Counseling Psychology with an Emphasis in Depth Psychotherapy from John F. Kennedy University. I received my BA from Sonoma State University in Psychology with a minor in Art.

I have worked with youth for over twelve years and enjoy drawing upon my passion for art, psychology, spirituality and nature in order to support individuals and families to engage in authentic and deep therapeutic work. My experience includes working at a residential treatment center with teenagers suffering from a multitude of mental health disorders and challenges as well as providing family and group therapy. I have also worked with adults at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. There, I worked in a Secondary Acute Care Unit providing mental health services to folks recovering from severe illnesses and injuries as well as with Alzheimer's residents and their families. I am truly humbled by the breadth of the human experience.

I serve as a member of the board for the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (IEATA) specifically on the Student and New Professionals Committee and I have been a presenter for the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD). I am committed to the destigmatization of mental health, the evolving field of psychology and helping contribute to a society in which quality services can be made accessible to all people.

In approaching therapeutic work, I believe in the healing power of creativity and the sharing of experiences in community. Through skillful listening and creating a safe and supportive environment, I use a client centered, integrative as well as holistic approach to therapy. I am committed to soulfully accompanying youth and families on their journey of self-discovery. I am thrilled to be a part of the team at BACA.
