Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Menlo Park

Welcome! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I specialize in working with children, teens, and young adults who have struggled with various forms of trauma, anxiety, and depression. I have worked in a collaborative school setting with elementary children and have also worked with the many difficulties that teens and young adults can face. I enjoy working with individuals on a one-on-one basis as well as in a group setting.

I have a background in depth psychology, which focuses on finding underlying emotional aspects of problems through the use of the unconscious including dreams, art, play therapy, and sand tray. I am also interested in the mind-body connection and value listening to the body’s different ways of communicating to us. In addition, I incorporate many other theories into my work with individuals including cognitive behavioral therapy (to understand how our thoughts affect how we feel and act), cultural-based therapy (to understand how cultural experiences affect our worldview) attachment therapy (to understand how attachment with parents can affect how we relate to others), and relational therapy (to understand more about how we relate to others). Through the use of these therapeutic orientations, I enjoy working together with each individual to uncover the reasons why s/he may be struggling and what may be causing the emotional pain.

I am passionate about hearing and understanding each individual’s unique story and pain to help find ways of feeling less overwhelmed and stressed and to provide support for those who are feeling lost or stuck in life. In a collaborative way, I listen to each person’s unique needs to then create a plan that will provide him/her with the support and healing that s/he may need. Everyone’s struggles and pain deserve to be heard, and I believe that everyone has the right to opportunities that can help to create a life that is wanted and desired. I believe that healing is possible.

I’m excited to be part of the BACA community to provide therapeutic services to children, young adults, and families. Please ask me if you would like to know more about my background. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, spending time with my cat, and snowboarding.

I look forward to working with you or your child!
