Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

San Jose

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with BACA. I was born and raised in the Bay Area. I completed my B.S. in Psychology and Social Action, and later on completed my M.A. in Counseling Psychology at Palo Alto University. I began my journey to licensure working with Community Health Awareness Council to provide individual therapy to youth from the ages of 5-11 on anxiety, trauma, grief, and depression. I also facilitated psycho-education groups in the school based setting with youth to increase coping skills. Later on, I was with Uplift Family Services (formerly EMQ Families First), Intensive Outpatient Program, where I provided individual counseling (7-19)  in the community with populations with anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, trauma, grief, self-esteem issues, and youth who were at risk of losing their housing or school placement. I provided family therapy and intensive case management.

My stance on providing therapy is accepting a person for who they are, and being a guide on their journey to what the individual wants to accomplish in therapy. I value placing emphasis on the individual’s strengths and how to increase them and use them during difficult times. I enjoy utilizing expressive arts to encourage individuals to express themselves, as words are not always enough, and currently pursuing certification in Expressive Arts at John F. Kennedy University.

When I’m not in my professional role of a therapist, I enjoy spending time with friends, family and my dog. I enjoy watching movies, baking, and finding new and interesting food places to try.
