Located minutes from downtown Berkeley off Ashby Ave and a short drive from the junction of I-80 and I-580, our Berkeley location is within easy reach of the exciting activities, services, and amenities available in Berkeley. We’re across the street from the Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, and a five-minute drive from the wide variety of restaurants and shops on vibrant Telegraph Ave. Parents dropping off teens for IOP can walk up to the downtown district and find plenty to do, while parents with children or teens in outpatient care can find shopping, restaurants, and more right round the corner from our facility.
Our Berkeley Location: Expanding Care For Bay Area Families
BACA Berkeley is our second location in the Bay Area, created to increase access to high-quality mental health care for children, adolescents, and young adults in our community. We create a comfortable, welcoming, therapeutic atmosphere for all patients. Our kid-friendly waiting room is stocked with refreshments for our patients and their families. Individual and group therapy rooms are modern, yet intimate. It’s the perfect environment for healing and growth.

Land Acknowledgement
BACA would like to honor the Muwekma Ohlone (pronounced mah-wek-mah oh loh nee) territory and peoples as well as the Confederated Villages of Lisjan. They are the original owners and caretakers of the greater San Francisco Bay Area and have continued to care and protect their land today. Before European contact, the native population in CA used to be one of the highest in North America. Over a period of 150 years, 95% of the population was eliminated. For the past 300 years, they have been violently displaced, faced cultural genocide, and forced to assimilate into mainstream society.
The Muwekma Ohlone Tribe and the Confederated Villages of Lisjan have made tremendous efforts to re-integrate their tribal identity into the Bay Area as part of a cultural revitalization movement. Yet, they continue to face systematic injustice today. As a children’s mental health agency, it is important for us to know this history, its effects, and honor the spirit, resilience and strength of these communities–each holding their distinct language and cultural practices. We pay respects to their elders past and present. As an agency, we hope to continue to uncover buried truths and build relationships based on mutual respect and connection.
